Dear Social Media,
You have unexpectedly become a large part of my life these past few days. They’ve been magical.
Last term Nick and I volunteered to lead an AMA meeting based on social media and how we, as marketers, need to understand utilize these sites in order to capitalize on this cultural phenomenon.
After working at adaptu this summer, I realized that whole new departments are being created based on social media, and that SEO/SEM industries are booming and continuing to grow. Check outSEMPDX for related networking events in Portland.
It’s undoubtedly changing how our society communicates. Even Nick and I both admitted that after taking on this project, both of us have been spending a significant amount of time on EVERY SINGLE SITE.
The advantage? We’ve both become very well-versed in the various types of social media and also how to use each type as a marketing tool. We’re talking Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Foursquare, YouTube, WordPress/Blogger and more.
Sounds like a win-win situation to me.
