NYC Restaurant Recommendations

Below are my lists of my favorite NYC restaurants (which is by no means complete) that I’ve been putting together over the past few years I’ve lived in the city. I always have friends ask me to send me my restaurant list, so ta-da! Here it is, enjoy.

MY TOP RECOMMENDATIONS

Uncle Boons (Thai) – Nolita
Delicious drinks and not your run-of-the-mill pad thai
Emporio (My go-to Italian & pizza. Also good for brunch) – Nolita
They make delicious brick oven pizza and Italian
The Dutch (American & Oysters) – West Village/Soho
Amazing meat and fish dishes (my favorite kobe beef steak in the city)
Black Tree (American/Italian/Asian Fusion) – LES
Very Portland, combination of foods based off of whatever they can get fresh from their farmers. Has the best pork belly bahn mi sandwich I’ve ever had. The burratta is amazing.
Dirty French (French/Moroccan fusion & Best steak I’ve ever had) – LES
A little spendy if you feel like balling out, but it’s the best steak I’ve ever had. Ever.
Caracas Venezuelan (Venezuelan Arepas) – East Village
If you haven’t had arepas then GO HERE and pour large helpings of their homemade green sauce on it
Milon (Indian & BYOB) – East Village
Bring your own wine or beer and go for the atmosphere at this Indian restaurant that’s COVERED with Christmas lights and decorations from every possible holiday – year round.
Oiji (Korean & Asian) – East Village
Very good food with a mix of hot pot and small plates
Timna (American) East Village/Alphabet City/1st Ave
Really delicious small plates and wine
Forget Me Not (All day & late-night Tacos, Surfer Atmosphere) – China Town
The best tacos and spicy margs you’ll find in the city
Barrio Chino (Tacos & Spicy Margaritas) – China Town
The best tacos and spicy margs you’ll find in the city
Baby Bo’s Cantina (West Coast Mexican & Homemade Mango Habanero Sauce) – Murray Hill
My favorite go-to Mexican spot in my neighborhood. The brunch here is amazing too
The Cannibal (Steak & other meat) – Flatiron/Murray Hill
Go here hungry for steak, its AMAZING
Santina (Italian) – West Village under the Highline Park
Southern Italian food where all the small dishes are amazing. Entres are ok, but I’d just get a bunch of the small dishes to share.

About Kailee Crawford

I'm an Oregon-born travel addict living in New York making the most of my vacation days. I started this travel blog to keep track of my bucket list and it's morphed into a journal of my adventures and recommendations for things to see, do, eat and drink. My hope is that I can help other travelers find their way. I want to try everything once and to live a life without regrets or missed opportunities. I call my philosophy on life the "the death bed philosophy" - I want to be laying in my death bed reflecting on all of the things I've done and seen in this world, not the things I wished I had done. It's not meant to be morbid, just a reminder to take risks, go out of your comfort zone and live life to the fullest. ♫♫♫♫♫ "You were only waiting for this moment to be free" --- "Blackbird" by The Beatles This quote is undoubtedly my favorite quote because it's a reminder of the infinite opportunities available to us. That in each moment there is an opportunity to find true happiness, and a sense of freedom when you're doing what you love. Freedom to explore, to create, to improve oneself, and to find fulfillment even during the 9 to 5 grind. ♫♫♫♫♫ I'm an incredibly pensive person with a wide variety of interests. In addition to traveling, my guilty pleasures include wine, food, music, art, languages and history. I grew up a nerd, watching The History Channel and reading The Lord of the Rings with my Dad. I'm driven by my pursuit of knowledge and growth and most passionate when I'm able to be creative. ♫♫♫♫♫
